The University of Oregon’s Women’s Basketball team beat Team USA 93-86 at the beginning of their season. They are the first college team to beat Team USA in the last 20 years. This is no surprise because Team USA is made up of the most talented and experienced female basketball players in the U.S.. That being said Oregon taking them down was quite the shock. Oregon’s basketball has quite the roster themselves with tons of fight and grit. Oregon winning is a good example of how female athletes are getting more competitive and more talented than ever before. It is bringing more attention to women’s sports. This games made one of the headlines on ESPN which NEVER happens. Women’s sports appearing in more headlines means more people will want to watch female athletes compete. Female athletes have to continue to get better and gain peoples attention. I know next time a college team plays Team USA I will be watching and I hope you do too!
